Service Programs

A key founding principle of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. is service. The Epsilon Epsilon Zeta Chapter is zealously dedicated to uplifting communities in the Central Florida area. Here are a few of our chapter programs and initiatives:

March for Babies

For more than 30 year, Zeta Phi Beta Sorority has partnered with the March of Dimes in an effort to encourage women to seek prenatal care within the first trimester of pregnancy, thereby increasing the prevention of birth defects and infant mortality.

Stork’s Nest Community Baby Shower

The Stork’s Nest Program promotes prenatal care participation and healthy behaviors during the pregnancy through two components – incentives and education. Epsilon Epsilon Zeta hold community baby shower through this program.

American Cancer Society: Breast Cancer Walk

Every Making Strides event is a powerful and inspiring opportunity to unite as a community to honor breast cancer survivors, raise awareness about what we can do to stay well from breast cancer, and raise money to help the American Cancer Society fight the disease with breast cancer research, information and services, and access to mammograms for women who need them.

Give Thanks: Feed the Homeless at Orlando Union Rescue Mission

The Orlando Union Rescue Mission is one of Central Florida’s oldest and largest homeless service providers. The Mission provides for immediate physical needs — including food, clothing and shelter. Epsilon Epsilon Zeta Chapter supports “Give Thanks” each year.

Health & Safety Fair

During the years of 2010-2011, the Orange County Parks and Recreation partnered with the Epsilon Epsilon Zeta Chapter of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority Incorporated in bringing the Health and Safety Fair to the Central Florida Community. The Health and Safety Fair was developed to provide the community with information on a number of health and safety topics. Some of the prior vendors included: The Lupus Foundation, OCHD, Wellcare, Planned Parenthood, ORMC, Orlo Vista Chamber of Commerce, Family Physician Group and Center for Drug Free Living to name a few. They provided exercise demos for adults and children, blood pressure and cholesterol checks, diabetes testing and education regarding certain cancers and preventative information.

Zensational Youth Conference

Over the past two years, Dr. Lauren L. Josephs PhD, LMHC, NCC (Vice President and COO of Visionary Vanguard Group) has partnered with the Epsilon Epsilon Zeta Chapter of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority Incorporated and has charged our sorority in planning an empowering conference for young women ages 12-18 in the Central Florida area. Our first year of the conference included a back to school event in which we gave each participant goodie bags with school supplies. We focused on areas we saw were lacking being taught to young women in this age group including: Bullying and Cyber bullying, Risky Sexual Behaviors and Non-traditional careers for women. This current year we decided to include the same topics of Bullying and Cyber bullying along with college prep information. We also included parents to come out and listen to the same sessions in their own group setting to empower the family as a whole. Our goal was to make sure that our participants take away knowledge and skills that will enhance their life as young women and will prepare them for leadership and success in their personal, social and educational life.
